Music Database

I have created a database to store the information about the tracks that may be played throughout the Dance o' Clock marathon.

To create the database, I had to design and build a suitable database structure to display the data I had collected. This included checking that all fields had a suitable data type, format, length and name. In addition I had to validate the coded fields.

Building Database

After that, I had to import the data onto my database by saving the list of songs from DIDA into my home area and then importing it on Microsoft Access.

Importing Data

I also entered two tracks that I had to research to gain more marks as it tests a wider variety of skills.

Entering Tracks

I then had to create a data entry form to help the students use my database and then after that I tested this by adding records to my database. On my data entry form, I had to make sure the boxes were of equal size and spacing. In addition I added a special effect on the boxes to make them look a lot better. I also included a series of user friendly buttons so that they can add new tracks, save tracks, and scroll the tracks more easily. The file below also contains my test buddy's evaluation and an annotation of my improved data entry form.

Finally, I also got my test buddy to test the database's field restrictions and the validation messages that I had made.
